Just a quick update to confirm that unfortunately I will now no longer be racing 70.3 Kraichgau this coming weekend.
As you may have seen in the previous update, I picked up a calf problem during the St Pölten 70.3 race which took it’s time to heal up and prevented me from running for two weeks.
This wouldn’t have been the end for me racing in Kraichgau as, following three days getting some sort of run form back I was planning to get some more race experience there and using it as a spring board for the European 70.3 Championships the following weekend. I was now 90% sure of being in Kraichgau and looking forward to getting another race under my belt, even if not fully fit.
However, Tuesday of race week and illness struck, taking me out of all training for most of this last week. Unfortunately it’s now too much of a risk to do the race and instead I’ll be getting healthy again and hopefully putting together a few good training days at home before heading up to Elsinore in Denmark for the next race on 18th June.
It’s not been the best of starts having waited so long for the European triathlon season to get under way, but there’s a lot of racing to come this year and I want to be part of it and racing well. Looking forward to getting going again in Denmark!
