Lanzarote Training Camp 2016


Lanzarote; this was a real love hate relationship for two weeks with the island. This is a hard place in every respect for training. Sea, rough and choppy, with the wind coming across. The roads for biking and running, relentlessly mountainous, windy, gusty, hot and heavy. If you want to do a recovery ride out here, you’re going to have to do it inside. If you want an easy swim, get in the bath tub.

But, what an amazing place to train for two weeks!

Turning Pro

At the end of last week, I finally received confirmation of a decision that I’d committed to back in September. At the turn of the new year, race licences are sent out and after many months of not being too specific when asked on what my plans for this year are, I now have my Elite licence to race and am registered as an Ironman Pro for the 2016 season.

Keeping the Faith

After the negative post on here around breaking my foot and ending my 2014 season with all the training promise unfulfilled, I’m really really happy to kick off 2015 with some positive news. Despite the aforementioned 2014 disaster, I’ve sat down with the guys from Global QROPS again over the winter and they’ve been nothing but enthusiastic about my new plans for the triathlon season and want to support and be a part of the team once again.
